With today’s announcement of the new Senate education committee chairmanship, the president of Texans for Fiscal Responsibility offered the following statement:
“State Sen. Dan Patrick has established an outstanding record by working to bring forward commonsense policy reforms,” said Michael Quinn Sullivan. “As one of the Taxpayer Champions in the Senate, Sen. Patrick’s appointment reflects a commitment by Lt. Gov. Dewhurst to promote policies and initiatives embraced by the majority of Texans. Parents, students, teachers and taxpayers now have a strong advocate working for them on the Senate’s education committee.”
Patrick has consistently received top scores on TFR’s Fiscal Responsibility Index, as well as high ratings from other conservative organizations in the state.
