Cliff? Behold Obama’s Fiscal Tsunami

With all the “fiscal cliff” talk, it seems like everyone has forgotten about the tsunami scheduled to hit our economy tomorrow: the $1 trillion ObamaCare Tax.

Barack the Taxer
Well, not everyone. The helpful folks at Americans for Tax Reform have a list of just some of the the new taxes and higher prices, brought to us courtesy of ObamaCare.

(The “fiscal cliff” comes out to about $500 billion in new taxes.)

Sadly, the unhealthy effects of the Obama Administration will be felt for years to come. In just the last several days, we’ve read about the hideous choices being made in Europe in order to control costs for their national health care systems.

Gov. Rick Perry made the right decision in November reiterating his opposition to creating the ObamaCare “exchanges.” There is no need for Texas to be an enabler in such monstrously expensive, horribly bad public policy.

Unfortunately, when the legislative session begins next week we expect to hear Democrats — and perhaps even some Republicans — argue that Mr. Perry should be overridden, and that Texas now just need to go along with Obama’s pillaging of the economy.

Now more than ever Texans need to be fully engaged in the business of the state — especially when that business is standing against bad federal policy.
