Health Care Compact Looking Strong

As the legislative session comes to a close, rumors are more numerous than facts. But one sure fact is that the much-needed Health Care Compact is on track for adoption in the Lone Star State. State Rep. Lois Kolkhorst and state Sen. Jane Nelson deserve great credit for bringing it forward.

As we’ve written in the past, the Health Care Compact will let Texans decide what kind of regulatory system affects health care policy in the Lone Star State.

Earlier today, HCC rumors swirled to the contrary, but they were just that — rumors.

For the thousands of Texans who have been working to see the HCC take form this Session, Sen. Nelson and Rep. Kolkhorst are nothing short of champions for the cause.

Hurdles still exist, both in the often-unreadable Senate and the sometimes raucous House.

But I’m encouraged by the progress, and encourage you to send letters thanking Kolkhorst and Nelson for their efforts up to this point.
