TFR: Greg Abbott for Re-Election

AUSTIN, Texas – Applauding his efforts to limit the size and scope of government, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility endorsed Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for re-election to Texas’ highest office.

“We’re proud to endorse Governor Greg Abbott for re-election. He has pushed reforms that protect property rights, to defang bureaucracies, and to restrict government’s reach into the decisions of small businesses,” said TFR President Michael Quinn Sullivan. “Governor Abbott has promoted transparency for government employees and politicians, while protecting the First Amendment rights of all Texans.”

Abbott is completing his first term as governor of Texas after previously serving as Texas Attorney General and on the Texas Supreme Court. After the Texas Legislature failed to deliver on mainstream policy reforms demanded by grassroots Texans, Abbott called lawmakers back to Austin for a special session focused on reform. He also promised to stand with citizens hold those who stood in the way of the people’s agenda accountable.

“But Governor Abbott cannot do it alone. I hope you’ll join us in supporting other right-thinking Texans who will fight the status quo in Austin to deliver the conservative reforms taxpayers demand,” added Sullivan. ”As goes Texas, so will go the country. America needs a strong Texas, and Texas needs strong conservative leaders like you and Greg Abbott.”
