AUSTIN, Texas – Praising his record protecting taxpayers, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility endorsed Comptroller Glenn Hegar for re-election.
“Texans for Fiscal Responsibility proudly endorses Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar in his re-election campaign,” said TFR’s president, Michael Quinn Sullivan. “Building on his solid record of standing up for taxpayers in the Texas Legislature, Hegar has taken his responsibilities as Comptroller seriously throughout his first term.”
Hegar served in the Texas House from 2003 until moving to the Senate in 2007. He was elected as Comptroller in 2014.
“Glenn Hegar not only serves as the state’s accountant, but has stepped up as a leader in the fight for transparency, open government, and fiscal responsibility,” said Sullivan.
Hegar is unopposed in the 2018 Republican primary but will face a Democrat opponent in the November general election.
