Social Media Coordinator

Empower Texans is looking for a creative and driven individual to add to their Communications team as Social Media Coordinator. This individual would work with the Communications Coordinator and Digital Communications Coordinator to build and sustain the organizations growing social media presence.  Duties would include creating & curating social media content across various platforms, scheduling social media, executing Facebook ad campaigns, and various other activities assisting the rest of the Communications team.

Applicants must share the belief in the principles of limited government, personal liberty, and an empowered citizenry that drive Empower Texans.

Qualifications of an ideal candidate include:

  •  Knowledge of various social media platforms
  • Strong writing skills
  • Graphic design experience; preferably in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Creative, able to think quickly and outside the box

This is a full-time position, which can be done remotely; however, it will require constant communication with the team in the Austin office. Compensation would be commensurate with experience.

Metroplex Correspondent

Empower Texans is looking for a self-motivated individual to fill the role of Metroplex Bureau Correspondent, working alongside the Bureau Chief. Duties include traveling across the North Texas Region (Dallas, Tarrant, Denton, and Collin Counties) representing the organization at meetings of liberty-minded groups as well as reporting on state and local events for the Texas Scorecard.

Applicants must believe in the principles of limited government, personal liberty, and an empowered citizenry.

Qualifications of an ideal candidate include:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Self-motivated
  • Competent writing skills
  • Ability to work evenings and travel locally
  • Strong interest in journalism, fact-finding, research, public speaking
  • Positive attitude and strong social skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, with mentorship from Bureau Chief

This is a full-time position based out of the Metroplex office, with ability to work remotely several days per week. Compensation would be commensurate with experience.

Internship Program

Empower Texans is seeking individuals with a desire to learn more about Texas politics to intern in our Austin office.

Responsibilities of Interns:

  • Support senior staff in the day-to-day operations of Austin office
  • Complete in-depth research projects
  • Manage various data entry projects
  • Help write and edit website materials
  • Assist with social media outlets

Qualifications:

  • Available to work 12 – 20 hours/week around class schedule
  • Self-motivated and highly organized individual
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Commitment to the organization’s missions
