Texas Poll Worker on Illegal Immigrants Voting: “We Got Tons of Them”

A bombshell report by investigative journalists appears to show Texas poll workers enabling and encouraging non-citizens to vote in the current election.

A breaking report released by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas a few hours before polls closed purportedly shows multiple Travis County poll workers facilitating non-citizen voting.

The video begins by citing Texas Election Code 63.012, which states:

“Texas Election Code makes it illegal for a poll worker to permit an ineligible voter to vote.”

The video then proceeds to an undercover journalist asking various poll workers how her illegal immigrant boyfriend can vote. In the scenario, the journalist expresses that her supposed boyfriend is registered, but not a US citizen—a known issue in Texas where hundreds of thousands of voters in the state’s database have not been verified as American citizens.

The journalist claimed that her boyfriend is a DACA recipient, has a driver’s license, and was able to use to register to vote, despite not being a US citizen.

“If he has his ID, that’s all he needs. If he’s registered,” says poll worker Deborah Brooks-Wims.

“It doesn’t matter that he’s not a citizen?,” the journalist asks.

“No! No, if he’s registered,” Brooks-Wims responds.

Later in the video the journalist visits with another poll worker under a similar pretense, saying her boyfriend is scared there could be some sort of issue with DACA recipients voting in the election.

“No, you tell him no, we got a lot of them,” says poll worker Pam Nash. “Mmhmmm. From early voting? We got tons of them.”

DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, is the Obama amnesty program that granted “temporary reprieve from deportation” to individuals claiming to have illegally immigrated to the United States as children. Through the federal program, which has been challenged by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, recipients are able to work and even obtain driver’s licenses in many states.

They are not, however, permitted to vote.

This is a developing story. Texas Scorecard will update this article pending the release of further information.
